Fruit & Vegetable Still Lifes I began painting in oils in the late 60s, but it wasn't until the early 70s that I started stretching large six and seven foot canvases. This first large painting, six by six feet, came from the encouragment of Judy Chicago when I was studying with her and Miriam Schapiro in the Feminist Art Program at Cal Arts.
